If I Could Do It All Over Again

If I could do it all over again, I would be more mindful that I’ll never be able to do it all over again. I would be more aware that NOW is the time. There is no other moment in time. Now IS it. Life is full of bounty and exquisite uncertainty, and there really are no re-dos.

There is, however, a scared path that provides us with all we need to re-create; to revise our own story with every day we live. That is, to live into our true selves, our delightful imaginative child, our creative self. There is an opportunity for evolution of ourselves in each moment. When we are able to self-reflect and notice the Divine gift of free will, we can make choices as to how we want to live our lives, how we want to respond, how we want to BE in life.

I am not referring to believing that magically we will have the things, the relationships, the house, the money or the circumstances that we believe will finally bring us happiness or contentment or joy. I am talking about deciding to BE the person we want to be; despite our external circumstances.

There is a tricky balance between control and letting go. This balance rests on the fulcrum of intuition, imagination, trust, belief, hope, and self-awareness. This creative evolution requires us to let go of the injuries from our past and to dare to live in the moment. We can allow our soft turtle skin to wear a protective shell when necessary, but to grow and evolve we must stretch our necks our, and blink wildly.

When you stretch your neck out, what do you notice first? What do you see? What do you believe, feel, and fear? What story do you tell yourself or others? What story do you believe? What story needs to be told?

The stars in the sky shout in splendor but it takes the words of a poem to make us look up.

If I could do it all over again, I would wake each moment remembering that I won’t ever be able do it all over again. However, I can do it NOW. This moment, this breath, this person, this blade of grass, this bulb in bloom is the moment of NOW. This is the do-over we have longed for. It is here for us now.
