Does the Sun Know?

Does the sun know that after the rain

The gray-black shroud over head –

Drifts slowly on its way?

Does the sun know?

Does the sun know that after a rain,

Stage lights appear hiding my shadows and my pain

I shield my eyes, light fills the space in my heart,

Hope and dreams and gentle new starts, Does the sun know?

Does the sun know that after the rain

the voice of a friend streams in

like rays familiar and bold,

asking not telling, listening

Does the sun know?

Does the sun know that after a rain,

I am reminded to sing

Does the sun know?

I am here
